William (Bill) Thomas Cordle was born March 14th, 1938 in Richlands, VA to Thomas Cordle and Roberta Dugger. He departed this life on March 30th, 2020 peacefully at home. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and step mother Margaret Cordle as well as three siblings, Norma Silcox and husband Harold , Mackie Cordle, and Lindsey Cordle. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Patricia D. Cordle, and his 3 sons Dale Cordle and his wife Susan, Chris Cordle, Brady Cordle and his wife Theresa. Also has 3 step children, Chris, John, and Renee and her husband Harley. There are 7 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren. There are 9 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. He is also survived by 4 siblings, Shirley and husband Tommy, Dreama Stimely and husband Jim, and Dennis Cordle and wife Cindy, Judy wife of Mackie and several nieces and nephews.

Bill served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was a Newport News Police officer for 30 years retiring as a Sergeant. He also was a Security Supervisor for 14 years with Mary Immaculate Hospital after retirement.

A private graveside service officiated by Pastor Terry Swiney of Parkview Church of God will be held at at Peninsula Memorial Park.
