Violet Jeanette Crockett passed away on April 1st, 2026, after a brief illness at the York Nursing Home, Yorktown, Virginia.  She was born November 6th, 1940, in Newport News, Virginia, to Frank Kerne Martin and Beatrice Leigh Martin.  She loved her dogs, being outdoors, working in her garden, all of flowers and bushes, feeding and watching the many birds that visited, especially during the winter. Inside she loved to read books, put together large picture puzzles, and do crossword puzzles. She is preceded in death by husband John Lee Crockett; daughter Lee Ann Crockett; parents, Frank and Beatrice Martin, and a sister Norma Lee Hailey. She is survived by three sisters, Patricia M. Foretich, Virginia Taylor, husband Larry,  Judith M. Colgan, and two brothers William Martin, wife Faye and Robert H. Martin, wife Janie and brother-in-law C.T. Hailey and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the local rescue squads. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, April 12th, 2026, 3:00 PM in Hampton Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Hampton, Virginia.
