Thomas Lee Dishman, Jr. went to be with Jesus on September 10, 2026 with his family at his side. He was born on January 4, 1939.

Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lena Rowe Dishman, daughters Mary D. Sweet (Terry) and Margaret D. DeCarolis (Joseph), grandchildren Casey Hinch, Ryan Sweet, Glenn and Adam Wilson, Anne Marie and Amanda DeCarolis. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas L. Dishman Sr., mother Emma Burt Dishman, daughter Marcia Dishman Morgan and brother, Robert B. Dishman (Sonny) just two months ago to the day.

His greatest love after his wife and girls was anything golf. He spent 66 years playing some of the best golf courses in the country. He was President of the Peninsula Industrial Golf League, the Section Chairman of the Virginia State Golf Association and the founder of the "Red" Spiegel Memorial Golf Scholarship through the VSGA.

He was a proud Hampton Crabber of the class of 1957. He was a Master Mason, Monitor Lodge #197. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He retired from civil service at Langley Air Force Base in 1999 after 29 years. He then got to do the job he truly loved and worked at The Hamptons Golf Course, then at Langley Air Force Base Golf Course. The Family will receive friends and loved ones for a Visitation Friday, September 18th, 2026 from 5-7 pm at W. J. Smith and Son Funeral Home.
