Teresa "Teri"
Ann Potter
d. Jun 16, 2024
Teresa Ann Potter, "Teri", beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 16, 2024 at the age of 73. Teri was the first born of five children to Jack and Sally Dyer. She was born in the Washington DC area and spent her adolescence in Suffern , New York. She spent summers on the water with extended family in Bay Ridge, Maryland where she developed a deep love for the sun and water. Teri also had a passion for helping her fellow man, fighting for equality and human rights which began in the late 1960's and shaped her life.
In 1975 Teri married Michael Potter and built their family and life together in Newburgh New York. She was a devoted mother to Jessica, Michael, Christopher and Andrew instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and compassion. Her family meant everything to her, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being. Teri had a fulfilling career as a ICU nurse as well as a practice supervisor of home health infusion nurses across South Eastern New York, where her dedication and hard work earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues. Beyond her professional achievements, Teri was known for her warm smile, her infectious laughter, and her sharp tongue. In her free time, Teri enjoyed camping with family and friends, shopping, or reading a book at the beach or poolside. Teri and Mike retired to Reedville, Virginia where Teri could enjoy her toes in the sand and face in the sun at her leisure.
Teri leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Although she is no longer with us, Teri's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Teri's life will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation ( https://wish.org/ ) in Teri's honor. Rest in peace, Teri. Your memory will forever be cherished.
Teri is survived by her husband Mike; children, Jessica, Michael, Christopher, Andrew, their spouses Jeff, Kim and Desiree along with her grandchildren Korinne, Hudson, Kara, Hayes, Remy, Bryce and Aubrey; her mother Sally; siblings, Jim, Don, Mary Jo and John.
