Sharon Kay Blake Pelfrey, 73, of Smithfield, VA formerly of Wayne, West Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Sharon was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Yorktown, VA.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Don Pelfrey, of 58 years.

Sharon will be missed dearly by her daughters, Janet (Brad) Schultz and Donna (Frank) Urquidez; son, Jeffery Donald Pelfrey; 11 grandchildren, Jonathan, Kevin, Abigail, Esther, Andrew and Elizabeth Urquidez, Jeffery Jr., Tyler, Nicolas, Luke, and Chloe Pelfrey; and 1 great-grandson, Lincoln Urquidez; brothers, Virgil (Connie) and Gary (Barb).

A funeral service will be at 6 PM, Friday, February 24, 2023, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Newport News, VA, with a visitation following until 7:30 PM. Burial will be at 11 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Southampton Memorial Park in Franklin, VA.
