Sarah Inez Banks, affectionately known as "Baby Sis", transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, September 12. 2022. A lifelong member of Cary's Baptist Church, she was born and reared in the Cary's Chapel Community of Yorktown. Inez graduated from Yorktown Training School where she created lasting friendships with her school mates and members of the girls' basketball team.

After graduation, Inez enjoyed many avenues of employment but her absolute favorites were working as a cashier at Harriett's Drive Inn (Nucky's) and as dental hygienist assistant for Dr. Jackson in Hampton. She also delighted in crabbing and socializing with family and friends.

Inez was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Clyde Banks, and siblings: Hattie Middleton, McKinley Banks, Freddie Banks and Maxine Brown. In addition to a special niece Jean Oliver (Colon) and devoted sister-in-law Hattie Banks, she is survived by other nieces and nephews: Linda George, Gerod Smith, Gary Smith, Avila Banks (Doris), Anita Howard (Barry) and Allison; a caring cousin Lillian Greene, and a host of other family and friends.

The Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Evelyn Staton will be held at Cary's Baptist Church on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM with visitation/viewing at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of W. J. Smith and Son Funeral Home.
