Obituary

Sally Ann (Clarkin) Tully, 84, passed away with family by her side on April 28, 2026. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on September 4, 1941, Sally lived a life defined by devotion to her family, friends, and church.

Following her graduation in 1959 from South Scranton Catholic High School, Sally became a registered nurse, a testament of her compassion. Her hands-on care for patients was matched only by her spirit of service as a dedicated volunteer. A proud Irish woman and voracious reader, Sally was known for her sharp intellect and the warmth she extended to everyone she met.

Sally is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Tully; son, Charles Tully; and brother, Thomas Clarkin. She was the proud grandmother of Rachael Tully, Morgan Tully, Rikki Kelemen (Justin), Randi Simpson, and Charles Tully, Jr. Her legacy also continues through her great-grandchildren, Spencer Simpson and Rosalie Kelemen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary Clarkin; sisters, Mary Clarkin and Kathleen Carey; and great-granddaughter, Violet Kelemen.

Family and friends are invited to honor Sally's life during the following services:

• Visitation: Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 6-7:00 PM at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601.

• Funeral Mass: Friday, May 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 100 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601.
