Born to Chester and Maxine Emerson, Sallie lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, and a quiet strength that touched all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Adrian Brandt, Jr.; her son, Greg Brandt; and her cherished great-granddaughter, Kinley Hedden.

Sallie is survived by her loving children: John Peterson (Frannie) of Lorton, Virginia; Kenny Brandt (Gina), Rick Brandt (Kim), and Lisa Brandt, all of Newport News, Virginia. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

She is also survived by her sisters, Gail Yoder and Linda Eighme, and her brother, Scott Emerson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sallie will be remembered as a woman of deep and abiding faith, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a steady source of love and encouragement to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she shaped, the faith she carried, and the love she gave so freely.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1st at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 4109 Big Bethel Road, Yorktown, Virginia with burial following in Peninsula Memorial Park. A reception will be held afterward at Christ the King Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
