Ronald Lee "Ron" Partain, Sr., 69, of Newport News, VA died unexpectedly at home on June 29, 2024.

He was born in Greenfield, IN to Donald Eugene and Margaret Lula (Foust) Partain.

Ron served in the United States Navy and retired as an Aviation Boatswain Mate Fuels Chief Petty Officer. He was also a truck driver for JB Hunt, an independent truck driver, as well as a Transportation Specialist for Huntington Ingalls Shipyard.

He enjoyed wood working, ship modeling, helicopters and researching his family tree.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Terri (Nemyer) Partain; a daughter, Linda (Anthony) Guzman; two sons, Ronald (Shannon) Partain Jr. and Matthew (Rebecca) Partain; nine grandchildren, Emma, Isabella, Alexander, Owen, Lucas, Matthew Jr., Benjamin, Rachel, and Andrew; his beloved dog, Rusty; a brother, Dennis Partain; a sister-in-law, Shelly Partain; two aunts, Mary Esther Beason and Bernice Partain; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary, Terry Joe and Larry Jay; his sister-in-law, Nadine; and his beloved dog, Angel.

A private memorial and burial will be held at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
