Ronald Martez Jones, a retired marine electrician, died on February 17, 2022 due to complications from cancer. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 45 years, Holly Jones. From this union they had a son, Benjamin Jones (Renea), and one special granddaughter Aziya. Siblings include Richard C. Jones Jr. (Ethel), Beverly Collier (David), Robert Floyd Jones (Frances), Barnette Crutcher (Ron), Gerald Wayne Jones (Diane), and Martice Johnson (Carmen).

He was a member of the Peninsula Church of Christ and served as one of their elders. Ronald taught in Bible classes, participated in evangelistic campaigns, and encouraged young people to remain faithful in the Lord. He was an avid bowler and possessed a green thumb with plants. He also enjoyed woodworking and playing cards with "the fellas."

Visitation will be on Friday, February 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the residence on North Avenue in Newport News.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the Peninsula Church of Christ, 502 Woodland Road, Hampton, VA 23669. Prior to the service, a final visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Peninsula Church of Christ Building Fund, 502 Woodland Rd., Hampton, VA. 23669, or your favorite charity.
