Obituary

Rodney Edward Schuff
June 26, 2023

Rod was born in Tiptonville, Tennessee on July 13, 1936. He attended the University of Tennessee and studied law, before being called to serve in the United States Army.  After serving he worked for years with Cadillac & Oldsmobile where he was known for his attention to detail, precision, and his ability to solve almost any problem. He later ran his own business, Motorcraft Inc.

Rod enjoyed his friends and family, having good conversation and fellowship, telling stories, and always playing practical jokes on his loved ones. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and relaxing at the lake. He always had time to talk and "lit up" when his grandchildren and great grandkids were with him. He loved deeply, in his own quiet manner. He had tremendous patience while teaching his daughter to drive and teaching all of the family to water ski. He was a man of integrity, honesty, and understanding. He overcame adversity throughout his life and always persevered. You could depend on him to be as good as his word. He was quiet in his faith, but lived his life in a manner pleasing to God.

Rod is survived by his best friend and wife of almost 62 years, Dannie; his daughter, Sherri (Ron) Hermansderfer; two granddaughters, Christi (Chris) Cashen and Lauren Hermansderfer; and  three great grandchildren, Nate, Elaina, and Evelyn Cashen.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis & Maxine Schuff, and brother Douglas.

Graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 3 PM.
