Robert "Bobby"
Thomas Silver
d. Jan 11, 2020
Robert "Bobby" Thomas Silver was called home to be with the Lord on January 11th, 2020. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Alyson and Caleb Fontenot, his grandsons, Abel James and Cayson Michael Fontenot, all of Clarksville, Tennessee; and his son, Thomas John Silver, of Gloucester.
Bobby spent most of his life working various jobs, from working on a Dredge Boat, to construction, to being a Manager at Fisherman's Wharf in Norfolk, VA, to working as a Crew Supervisor at VA Natural Gas, and finally working as Maintenance Supervisor at the local YMCA in Newport News. Never afraid to shy away from working with his hands, Bobby found joy in many things. Two of the biggest things he found joy in life were his love of baseball, and his faith in God. Bobby was an Allstar Baseball Player for Northampton Little League during his youth and teen years. He attended Bethel High School in Hampton from 1973 to 1976 where he continued playing and loving the game of baseball. He then continued his studies at Old Dominion University in Norfolk. He later returned to his love of baseball and coached for Denbigh Youth Little League.
Those who remember Bobby remember him as a helpful man with an infectious smile who would always drop anything to help someone who needed him. He was well loved in life, and will surely be missed by his family and many friends.
