Bob departed this world August 16, 2022 to his Heavenly Home.  He was born in Covington, VA to Layman and Mary Weikle. Since graduating from Covington High School in 1952 he has lived in Newport News. Having worked for the Newport News Shipyard for 41 years while simultaneously serving in the Virginia Army National Guard and Air Force Reserve for 45 years with 2 of those years in the Korean Conflict active duty. In addition he volunteered for ESGR 20 years after retiring. He was a resident of the Chesapeake Retirement Community since June 2009.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and oldest son, Paul Edward Weikle. Bob is survived by his wife, Julia "Judy" Forlines Weikle, of 68 years; son Jerry Lee Weikle (Karen) of NC; three granddaughters, Stacy Saucier (Doug) of FL, Julia Weikle of MS, Madison Boulter (Oliver) of NC; grandsons, Zachary Weikle and Hunter Weikle (Bea) of NC; six great-grandchildren, Christian and Hannah of CA, Analena and Savannah of MS, and Meadow and Jasmine in NC; sisters, Joyce Welch and Bonnie (Randall) Canterbury.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Hitesburg Baptist Church Cemetery, 2215 Hitesburg Church Road, Virgilina, VA with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside in the church fellowship hall.
