Robert J. Apley (Bob) passed away on March 10, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born on March 8, 1939 in Bad Axe, Michigan and was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge. Bob enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Joan Apley; his daughter Kim Blackburn (John); a son David Apley (Ginny); grandsons, Kyle Blackburn and his wife Alana, and Jake Blackburn (Cera); a sister Betty Backus; a niece Lynn Kleisler and her husband Rod; his many wonderful friends, Randall "Randy" Phelps and Bob "Bob Bob" O'Donnell just to name a few.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on March 26, 2022 at Denbigh United Presbyterian Church, 302 Denbigh Blvd., Newport News, VA 23608. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
