Richard "Mac" McClelland, 84, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mac settled in Hampton Roads after his stint in the U. S. Army.  He retired from the Naval Weapons Station after over 30 years of service.  Mac was a kind hearted man, who was always there for everyone and never expected anything in return.

Mac is preceded in death by his wives, Christine and Marilyn; his parents, John and Corinne McClelland; and his brother Timmy.  He is survived by his children, Ronnie Dixon, Barbara McClelland (Edward), Michelle Nanney, Kimberley Allsbrook (Earl), Rick McClelland, and John McClelland (Kim); brothers, Jack (Sherry), Don (Lisa); and sister-in-law, Donna McClelland.  Mac is also survived by 13 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Road, Newport News. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM  in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulder Hills Road, Suffolk.
