Regine Mbuyi Kadima Tshiek widow of Papa Tshiek ( Maman Regine/ Ya Regine), age 74 originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was a member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church of Congo, the Communaute au Congo (CPC), and the Communaute Presbyterienne in Kinshasa (CPK).

She worked alongside her husband in his missionary work with PEVA and PCUSA.

She worked at Kingsmill Resort she started in food and beverages ,and ended as a Spa Attendant in hospitality. She was a manager for a family business for 4 years, She retired in 2017.She also knitted for Kirkwood church for babies in hospital and loved going to the YMCA to do her silversneakers and chair yoga.

Maman Regine Mbuyi Kadima-Tshiek is survived by her 6 children: Jeanne Tshiek, Monica Tshiek Kabassu, Kadim Tshiek, Mutanga Tshiek Ntumba, Wangaja Tshiek and Noella Tshiek; 12 grandchildren: Sarah,Tabitha,Jonathan, Gabriella-Janice, Balenga, Nsenki, Kadim, Tshiek, Faith, Gabrielle, Mulume, Jasmine, her beloved dog Lodja ,close relatives, and the Congolese community of Hampton Roads, VA.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church with burial following in Peninsula Memorial Park.
