Randolph Marshall Mason, 66, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2022. He was born in Richmond, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Ann (Towers) Mason. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Burger); children, Rebekah of Newport News, James of Richmond, Timothy of Harrisonburg, Elizabeth (Lizzie) of Newport News; and his sister Susan Sanders (Charles) of Irvington, VA.

Marshall graduated from York Academy in Shacklesford,VA and later graduated from University of Baltimore, Columbia International University and Southeastern Seminary. He has worked as a CPA, a Pastor, CDL driver and served in the Air National Guard. He pastored at Ivy Farms Baptist Church in Newport News, Va. and South Beltline Baptist in South Carolina.

Over the course of his life he enjoyed football,---playing and later watching his sons play-- following college basketball, sailing, camping trips, and taking Rebekah 'fun places like the library'. He is remembered for taking Lizzie to AWANAS and (sometimes) going out for ice cream afterwards. He enjoyed the popcorn he popped himself in the evening.

Marshall was a member of Menchville Baptist Church. Recently he wrote "Heaven is a great and wondrous place. -- no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love Him'. And a few days before he passed he wrote of his desire to "love God supremely" "God loves me. What could be better than that? NOTHING!"

The family will receive friends at Menchville Baptist Church on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:30 with a Celebration of Life Service following at 11 AM with Pastor Jim Weston officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Peninsula Rescue Mission, 3700 Huntington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607.
