Obituary

Priscilla C. "Nanny" Young 77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Priscilla was born in Newport News, VA, but has made Hampton, VA her home for over 65 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Alton J. Cobb (Bo) and Myra D. Cobb. Priscilla is survived by her loving husband of almost 56 years, Robert T. Young, Sr. Her four children, Lisa Young, Pamela Anderson and her husband Ryan, Robert Young, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, and Amy Kearney and her husband Jason; her sisters Nelda Martin and her husband Johnny, and Joan Price; her grandchildren, Rachel Edwards and her husband Alex, Hilary Groves and her husband Bruce, Jessica Henseley, Brooke Lindsay, Phillip Devin Lindsay, Alex Lindsay, Cheyenne Trump, Ethan Trump, Rhiannon Trump, Abigail Anderson, Jacob Anderson, and Bria Kearney; her great grand children, Zoey Groves, Lilly Groves, Sophia Lindeman, Eleanor Edwards, Abraham Edwards, and Evelyn Edwards, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Priscilla was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and everyone she knew. She had a delightful personality and a loving, warm wit. She was the "super glue" that held our family together. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She loved talking and facetiming with her family on her IPad, and trips to Disney and Busch Gardens with her family. She and her scooter went everywhere, and it was hard to keep up with her and avoid being run over. She kept up with every birthday and important event and cheered us all on. She will be sorely missed on earth but oh what a wonderful spirit has gone into heaven and is cheering for us there and is waiting for us bye and bye.

The visitation and service for Priscilla will be on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Fox Hill Road Baptist Church in Hampton, VA. Masks and social distancing will be required. Visitation will be from 11:00 am-12:00, followed by a funeral service at Noon with Dr. Nathan Cecil officiating. The service at Noon will be available for you to live-stream at facebook.com/fhrbc. Due to COVID-19 restrictions burial will be private. Arrangements by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
