Preston Eugene Lane, Sr., 94 years old, of Hampton, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 15, 2024.  Preston was born in Perquimans County, NC, on May 24, 1930 and was the son of John Martin Lane and Martha Anne Alexander Lane.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Kay Williams Lane; his daughter Susan Lane Pytash and her husband Dennis; his son Preston E. Lane, Jr. and his wife Janetta; and his grandson Tyler Paul Pytash and his wife Christine.

Besides his parents, Preston is preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton (now Liberty Live Church) since April 1968. He served on the Liberty grounds committee and was a member of Russell Reames Bible Class at Liberty at the time of his passing.

Preston retired from the Air Force in June, 1966 after 20 years of service.  His tours overseas included Guam (2 tours), Korea and North Africa.  He also retired as Supervisor from Navy PWC Civil Service.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia.
