Peggy Hughes Windham, 81, a longtime resident of Hampton went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Peggy and her husband Carl attended Keep The Promise Ministries of Poquoson. She was known to be a very giving and loving person that knew no strangers. Her favorite colors were red, white and blue. Peggy was born on 4th of July, 1941 and always appreciated people from across our nation coming together to celebrate her birthday with fireworks and elaborate displays year after year.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, E. Carl Windham; three children Brian Windham and his wife Terry of York County, Scott Windham and his wife Norrie of Newport News and Tonya and her husband Steve Waldron of Fort Belvoir, Virginia; grandchildren Nicole and her husband Jordan Hawkins, Holly and her husband Derrick Lawson, Ryan Windham, Gabriel Waldron, Nathaniel Waldron and Miklayla Waldron; and one great-grandchild Isabella Lawson. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Jay Windham.

The family will receive friends at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 starting at 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at noon. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
