Norma Morgan passed away on July 9, 2023 at the age of 94. After growing up in French Lick Indiana, she became a resident of Newport News in 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer and is survived by her son Garth and his wife Anne of Fairfax County and her son Neil and his wife Jo Ann of York County. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Norma liked people and was an active member of Hilton Presbyterian Church for many decades. Her Christian faith was a major defining aspect of her life. She was proud of her role as a wife and mother and was not to be trifled with when she believed her loved ones had been done wrong. She lived by herself for almost a quarter of a century after Homer's death and was sustained by friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank some special people that went to great lengths to help Mom maintain her independence later in life. Specifically, Chuck Paul, Ellis Hatcher, Judy Davis, Dave and Stephanie Messick, and Bill and Josie Hodge were amazing and loyal friends.

During the last two years of her life, her physical frailty required her to move to Riverside's Warwick Forest. The family appreciates the caring work of the Warwick Forest staff and the Riverside Hospice Team during what was in many ways the most difficult part of her life.

There will be a private burial at Peninsula Memorial Park.
