Nellie Bowles, 79, daughter of Velma Stanley and Guy Walls, born September 20, 1944 in Martinsville, Virginia, joined her heavenly Father on Friday, January 12, 2024.  A native of Newport News, Virginia for over 70 years, she is preceded in death by her husband Elton "Buddy" Bowles; five brothers; and two sisters.  She is survived by her son Mark L. Bowles (Heather) of Suffolk, VA; two granddaughters, Amanda Bowles of Gloucester, VA, and Sierra Walker (Ryan) of Oviedo, FL; a great granddaughter Layton Grace; three brothers; six sisters; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

She started her career at the Warwick Pharmacy lunch counter, then transitioned to accounting at Midway Furniture, Pollards Florist, Caliper, and Atlantic Labor Solutions until November 2023.

She was a lover of many things, but most important to her was her Family.  She was very generous, not only monetarily, but also emotionally to anyone who she thought needed encouragement.
