It is with sadness that we announce our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend Michael E. Williams was received into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.

Michael was born December 27, 1974 and was a long-time resident of Hampton and Newport News, VA. He graduated from Bethel High School and worked as a welder and metal fabricator for Newport News Industrial for many years.  It is said that as long as we remember our loved ones, they are not really gone. Their thoughts, their feelings, their memories become part of us. Michael's memory is a keepsake from which we'll never part, God has him in His keeping, we have him in our hearts.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, James M. Williams; brother Matthew M. Williams; paternal grandparents James R. and Naomi Williams; maternal grandparents Madeline and Russell Vines and his beloved Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Laci.  He is survived by his mother, Janice O. Williams, sister Janice M. and husband Ron Cohen, brother Dallas Williams; nieces and nephews, Emma Williams, Victoria Cohen, Hunter Cohen and Heather Cohen-Stanley and husband Eric, and great niece, Avery.

The family will host a memorial service on Friday, March 13th 2026 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home located at 210 Harpersville Road in Newport News. Services will begin at 7:00pm with visitation immediately following until 8:30 pm.
