Mary Hudgins Bowman, 87, of Yorktown, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born on October 8, 1933 to the late Roland and Lillian Hudgins.

She was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived a long, good life.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Hay (Joseph), Patricia Resto and Regina Bowman; her sons, Charles Bowman, Ronald Bowman, Kevin Bowman, Marvin "Gene" Bowman, Rodney Bowman and Kenneth Bowman; grandchildren, Michael Hudgins (Ambria), Marissa Resto and Carmen Hay; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Jeissa, Julianna, Kai and Kamilla; a sister Leola Gray; great nieces, Azima Reid (Tyrus), Mary and Erin Reid; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Delaware Bowman; and brothers, Weldon Hudgins and George Hudgins.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there is a 10 person rotation limit in the building at a time. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Cary's Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Warren Choice officiating. Social distancing and masks will be required at the visitation and the graveside service.
