Marsha Louise Scearce, 79, went to be with her Lord on April 16th at Norfolk General Heart Hospital. Marsha was born in Morehead City, NC but she spent 50 years a resident of Hampton.

Marsha retired from the Newport News Shipyard where she was one of the first women welders. She was a dedicated mother to her three children. She thoroughly loved spending time with her church study group and friends; as well as working in her yard and garden. Marsha always thought of others and helped in any way she could.

Marsha was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Scearce. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Harold Lee Baker of Hampton, Sam Baker and wife Leeann of South Dakota and Paul Baker, and wife Michelle of Texas; grandchildren, Krystal, Daniel, Justin; and great grandson Charles. Marsha will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at W. J. Smith and Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Road, Newport News. A funeral service follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Larry Ronin officiating. Private burial will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
