Margaret J. Atkinson, 86, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022. Margaret was born June 24, 1935 to Clyde Johnson and Flora Althena Fleming. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Atkinson; sister Donna K. Johnson; brother, Benny Johnson; son, Curtis Steven Asbury and step son, Doug Atkinson. She was the mother of three children Curtis Steven Asbury, Sheri Asbury Titone and Laura Beth Asbury. She was the step mother of Doug Atkinson, Donna Atkinson Robinson and Scott Atkinson. Her siblings were Donna K. Johnson, Janet Shamblin, Betty Johnson O'Bey and Benny Johnson. Margaret had many grandchildren including Robert K. Shaffer III, Curtis Reese Asbury, Seana Brielle Quigley, Skylar Asbury-McDonough, Sara Maria Titone and Summer Elizabeth Titone.

She also had great grandchildren and great great grandchildren both biological and extended family. They referred to her as Grammy. She also had many nieces and nephews. She loved family.

She lived in many states throughout her life having York County her final place of residence before passing. She was a loving, kind, caring and generous, God fearing woman. She loved life and loved to travel. She gave freely of herself in her time, finances, love and life experiences and showed the love of God in everything she did. She will be greatly missed.

May the Lord keep her in his hands as she begins her new journey with him in heaven.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
