Linda "Lynn" Towson, age 75, of Newport News, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her home, with her devoted husband of nearly 30 years, Bill, by her side.

She was born on October 29, 1949, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Eugene Tulley and Freida McLaughlin Tulley.  As a child, Lynn moved to various locations in the Northeastern and Midwestern United States because of her father's work with G.C. Murphy Company.  She graduated from Linton High School in Linton, Indiana in 1967 and then attended Indiana University at Bloomington for two years before returning to Linton to begin working.  She married Stephan Boyd of Bloomfield, Indiana in 1974 and became an Air Force spouse shortly after.  After their daughter, Stephanie, started school, Lynn worked as a secretary at Texas A&M University while her husband completed his education.  She was a supportive military wife as the family moved from base to base.  Lynn eventually found her true professional calling as a brokerage assistant, working for several brokers in Valdosta, Georgia and Norfolk, Virginia until her retirement in 1995.  In 1995, she married William "Bill" Towson III.  Soon after getting married, Lynn retired to help care for her father and mother-in-law.  Her constant presence ensured that Bill and Louise Towson were able to remain in their home surrounded by their loved ones. She loved dancing, spending time on the water, enjoying the beach, or visiting with friends.  Her infectious smile and warm, loving heart endeared her to friends around the world.  Lynn also enjoyed being a bonus mom to Bill's children, Billy and Jaclyn.  She was immensely proud of all her children as they started their careers and families.

Lynn is survived by her husband, William Towson III of Newport News; daughter, Stephanie (Boyd) Mont and husband, Cesar, of San Antonio, Texas; son William Towson IV of Hampton, Virginia; and daughter Jaclyn Towson of Yorktown, Virginia.  She has two grandchildren: Aspen Mont of San Antonio, Texas and William Towson V of Hampton, Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Freida Tulley; her sister, Nancy Tulley; and her brother, Greg Tulley.

A celebration of her life service will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home located at 210 Harpersville Road, Newport News.  Interment will be private.
