loving husband, Dennis Brown, by her side.
Kay was born on April 1, 1944, in Newport News, Virginia, to Woodrow McKinney Brooks Sr. and Mildred Christie Brooks. In 1980, Kay married
the love of her life, Dennis E. Brown, sharing forty-five years of marriage, a testament to their faith, commitment, and deep bond.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Mildred Brooks; her sister, Donna Brooks Cockrum; brother-in-law Williams Cox.

Kay graduated from Warwick High School in 1962. She devoted over 43 years of her accounting expertise to Teagle Realty, forging lasting
friendships in the process. Her strong work ethic and unwavering loyalty served as a model for her personal conduct.
In her leisure time, Kay found joy in cooking for family and friends and singing at the First Baptist Church of Newport News, where she was
a member of the church choir and the Sextet, Sisters in Praise. She cherished traveling, making memories with Dennis and friends,
encouraging others and working puzzles. She especially loved traveling to North Carolina to look for the perfect treasure while
mining for gems.
Kay Hickman was a devoted woman of faith, and her life reflected love, faith, and grace. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on
in the lives she touched and the family she loved.
