Obituary

Kathleen Ann Sutton went home to God on July 27, 2021 after a brave fight with cancer. Born August 18, 1945 in Penn Yan, NY (near the shore of Lake Keuka in the Finger Lakes region) she was the youngest of four children of Percy Leroy and Louise Mae (Dyke) Roberts. When she married Lawrence R. Sutton she moved to Newport News where she spent most of her life. She was a homemaker, mother, and Hostess at Hampton Inn & Suites for several years and was loved by all who knew her. She was a devoted Christian and was a very kind, giving and humble person. She donated to several charities as she felt it was important to help others in need. She was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include her two daughters, Laurie Sutton and Tammy Sutton, both of Newport News; two sisters, Eleanor Fisher of Westminster, PA and Ella Mason of Shiloh, NC; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 Noon on Monday, August 2, 2021, with a funeral service following at 12 Noon at Ivy Farms Church of the Brethren, 681 Dresden Drive, Newport News. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family is requesting that all in attendance please wear a mask.
