June W. Lawrence, a native of Newport News, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. June was a member of Temple Baptist Church and retired from NASA Raytheon. She was a graduate of Warwick High School and well known on the Peninsula. June enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and socializing with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Billy J. Lawrence, Sr.; parents, Vermont and Revonda Woods; a sister, Janie Tice; and two brothers, Randy Woods and Paul Woods. Survivors include her two sons: Billy J. Lawrence, Jr. and his wife, Michelle Lawrence; Matthew D. Lawrence and his wife, Nanci Lawrence; and three grandchildren: Ellie Lawrence, David Lawrence, and Julie Lawrence.

The family will receive friends on a later date to be determined. In honor of June and to show appreciation for the great care she received in the Riverside Regional Medical Center Surgical Intensive Care Unit, we would like to bless the SICU.
