Joyce H. Kinlock, 92, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 14th, 2024, at the Gardens at Warwick Forest, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on November 28, 1931, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, Joyce was the daughter of Dr. Fred M. and Genevieve Blair Holstein. She graduated from Grove City High School in 1949 and went on to study home economics at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1953. Joyce was a dedicated member of the Alpha Sigma Chapter of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority throughout her life.

Joyce moved to Newport News in 1966 and was a cherished member of the community. She lived briefly in Loudoun County, Virginia, in 2022 but returned to Newport News in 2023 as a resident of the Gardens at Warwick Forest. In Newport News, she was a long-time member of Hidenwood Presbyterian Church, the Warwick Yacht and Country Club and actively involved with the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter AG.  With her many friends, she enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard B. Wiley; her second husband, A. Russell Kinlock, Jr.; and her daughter, Deborah Wiley Hazelette. Joyce is survived by her son, Jeffrey S. Wiley, and his wife, Maureen, of Oak Hill, Virginia; her sister, Julia Bradshaw of Clearwater, Florida; her son-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey Hazelette, and four grandchildren: Brooke Hazelette Woltman, Allison Hazelette Hood, Lauren Wiley Miles, and Kelsey Wiley Raymond. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 3 PM.
