Joseph Dean Swann departed this earth on Saturday, July 10, 2021 to join his Heavenly Father. Born July 23, 1989, Dean was the beloved son of Linda Bush Reeve and Lawrence Frank Swann, and beloved grandson of Lena Swann, with whom be lived in Hampton, and Gayle and Yvonne Bush. He is survived by his siblings Lauren Clay, Elizabeth Clay, Miche Reeve, and Joshua Caleb Mccoy, as well as his stepfathers Ricky Clay and Ken Reeve.

Dean grew up in Newport News, where he was an avid fan of music, especially the guitar. He enjoyed computers, both using and fixing them, and science, often spending his free time developing invention ideas. Dean also enjoyed science fiction and history – his favorite television show was the X-files and his favorite movie was "A Beautiful Mind." Dean enjoyed spending time with his many friends both in person and online.

A memorial service will be held for Dean at W. J. Smith and Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Road, Newport News at 7 PM on Thursday July 22, 2021.
