John H. Price, Sr. of Hertford, NC, died October 1, 2022. John was a native of Micro, NC and was a long time resident of Newport News. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 37 years where he was a Nuclear Inspector and lived the remaining years of his life in Snug Harbor in Hertford, NC.

He is predeceased by his wife of 61 years Sue Price of Hertford. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Michelle Price and Bobby and Debbie Price; five grandchildren, Jordan (Jess), Scott (Amanda), Jennifer, Julie and Jessica Price and five great grandchildren, Riley, Corbin, Dean, Willow, and Everly Price, all of VA; three brothers, Sam, Poncho, and Cheater Price, all of NC; two sisters, Sallie Henry of SC, and Debra Warren of TX; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a member and past Master of Warwick Lodge #336 Masonic Lodge AF&AM and a past District Deputy of District #14. He was a member of Snug Harbor Civic League and an attended Snug Harbor Church.

Visitation that was scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 8th, the family has canceled.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Snug Harbor Community Church, 13 Fir Street, Hertford, NC. The family will greet friends after the service.
