John William "Snappa" Brown 63, passed away suddenly Tuesday, May 10, 2022. John was a native of York County and a lifelong Peninsula resident. He was a 1978 graduate of Tabb High School in York County. He served in the U.S. Army. John was known and loved throughout the Cary's Chapel Road, Big Bethel Road community and the Berkley community on Harpersville Road, where he was always willing to lend a hand to help. John could always say something that would make you laugh or bring a smile to your face. John worked at several business to include Fort Eustis, Langley NCO Club, Wal-Mart, and Farmers Market.

He was preceded in death by his father Isaac Randolph, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Randolph; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Moses Brown; one sister Ernestine Banks; brothers, Dwight Brown and Charles Brown.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Mildred Brown Nettles of Newport News; two sisters, Sandra Brown of Yorktown, and Vicki Williams of Newport News; two brothers, Calvin Randolph of Oklahoma, Isaac Randolph, Jr. of Hampton, three aunts; one uncle; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Road, Newport News. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk.
