Born in Newport News, Virginia, Jesse (72) passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025. He was a master carpenter and took great pride in his craft and loved working with people.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mala Fisher and their three sons: Joshua (Mallory), Seth, and Caleb; as well as a brother Paul (Hazel) and a sister Nancy Moyer (David); along with many friends and family who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held at Warwick River Mennonite Church, 250 Lucas Creek Road, Newport News, Va. at 3 pm Sunday, September 28th. Casual dress is preferred.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Gospel for Asia or CHKD.

Jesse used to say a Pennsylvania Dutch goodnight to his young children before bed, so they wanted to say it one last time, "Schlaf gut, Draam siess" (sleep well, sweet dreams)
