Jennings Eugene Britt, 74, of Newport News, Virginia, gained his wings October 14, 2023. He was born in Kinston, NC to Jennings Britt and Hazel Britt. He attended Thorpe Junior High School, class of 1966 in Hampton, VA. He was a private in the US Army from 1967-1968. Jennings was a Prison Correctional Officer and worked for the transportation department driving a city bus for Southern California. He was an avid stamp and coin collector.

Jennings was preceded by his parents, Jennings and Hazel Britt and his sister, Shelby Jenkins. He is survived by his four children, Angelina Daubert and her husband, Ray of Newport News, Sherry Craul and her husband Tom of Newport News, Jennings Britt Jr and his wife, Ann of Hampton and Suzanne Chapman of Newport News;  one brother, Bobby Britt of Newport News; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at W.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home; Visitation will be at 11:00a.m., Ceremony will be at 12 p.m. burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park with military honors. A Celebration of Life will follow at Sherry & Tom's Home.
