A lifelong advocate for education and community service, she retired as Executive Director of WWISCAA after decades of leadership. Her legacy includes numerous programs for disadvantaged families and the annual Jean-Marie Hill Client Self-Sufficiency Award. A devoted member of Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church, Mrs. Hill led with grace and purpose, serving as the Young People's Division (YPD) Director and nurturing generations of youth in faith and fellowship. She also held a long-standing position as Trustee, reflecting her deep commitment to the church's governance and stewardship. Beyond her formal roles, she chaired and co-chaired many church anniversaries and special programs, always seeking to uplift the collective spirit of the church.
She is survived by her children Henry (Anita) Hill of Yorktown, VA; Mary Hill (Emmanuel Onifade) of Douglasville, Georgia; grandchildren: Veronica Brizant Stewart and Jaye Johnson of Dallas, TX; Lauren Nicole Hill of Yorktown, VA; Henry Hill, Jr. of Richmond, VA and Nicole (Kyle) LeBlanc of Atlanta, GA; godson Larrence Williams of Greenville, MS; and great-grandchildren, Kemari Hughes and Bria Hughes of Forest, MS and Beau LeBlanc and Monroe LeBlanc of Atlanta, GA.
