Born and raised in Tennessee, Janice lived in Virginia for over 40 years and went home to the Lord on Oct. 2, 2024. She enjoyed the beach and shopping trips with her friends to Pennsylvania. Janice retired from Noland Company after 20 plus years. She was a wonderful woman and lovely mother and will be missed by many.

She is  survived by two sons, J. B. Bowen and Jeff Bowen; grandchildren, Stephanie Creech, Taylor Nicole Bowen, Megan Hurst and Brandon Bowen; great grandchildren, Clay Creech, River Creech, Graylynn Smith and Sadie Hurst. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carson Whitehead; and sisters, Jean Lewis and Farris Nave.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 starting at 6:00 PM in W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, with a funeral service will following at 7:00 PM.

There will be a visitation, funeral and burial in Tennessee.  Visitation will start at 1 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024 with a funeral service following at 2 PM in Memorial Funeral Chapel, 212 North Main Street, Elizabethton, TN. Burial will be in Whitehead Cemetery, Hampton, TN.
