Janet Anne Bacon, 88, died on Sunday, December 5, 2021. She was born in Granville County, NC and had been a Peninsula resident for over 60 years. Janet was a member of Denbigh Baptist Church where she worked with Awanas and was a member of the Joy Missionary group. She retired after 40 years as a bus driver from the Newport News Public Schools.

Survivors include her husband Williard J. Bacon; five children, Kathryn Damron (John) of Ivor, Judy Hall (Allan) of Newport News, Larry Weaver (Shelly) of Newport News, Billy Weaver (Danielle) of New Kent, and Jeff Weaver of Newport News; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister Phyllis Liner of Annandale, VA.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Denbigh Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 13010 Mitchell Point Road, Newport News, VA 23601.
