James Bruce Gaynon (Mr. Bruce) 69, of Newport News, VA, died in his home of a heart attack on Thursday, November 12, 2020. He was born in Arkansas on August 1, 1951 to Gordon Gaynon and Bertha Kirksey.

He is predeceased by his parents; his first born child James Gordon Gaynon; and his grandson Reynaldo Gaynon; as well as many other family members. He is survived by his children, Prairy Riehl, Brucerey Cruz, Ashley Gaynon, Daniel Gaynon, and Angelica Long; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Ethan, Preston, Xander, Noah, Skyla, Rex, Ezekiel, and Jayce.

Bruce was very well liked. He loved his family, friends and his community. He had a generous heart and would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He liked to build snowmen, but hated the cold. Thanksgiving was always his favorite holiday. He loved to bake pies and spend time with everyone. Mr. Bruce will be greatly missed.
