James Deuell passed away peacefully Monday March 24, 2025. He was born in Newport News, and a longtime resident of Hampton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse J. Deuell and Annie B. Deuell; wife Leah; brothers, Jesse, Roy, and Charlie; sisters Virginia DeBerry, Maza Lee Williams, Suzie Johnson, Judy Walker.

He is survived by his brother Tommy and many nieces and nephews. He retired from Newport News Shipyard with over 42 years of service. James loved to sing and dance and was a champion bowler. He enjoyed bowling with his brothers Tommy and Roy.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday April 4th, 2025 at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton VA 23666.
