Obituary

Jacklyn Moorefield Clair, 90, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on July 1, 2020. Truly a servant of God, Jackie's life reflected one who lived a life of optimism, humor, belief in miracles and a strong faith in God.  Everyone touched by Jackie felt her gentle nature and kindhearted spirit.

Jackie was born in Hampton, VA, on September 3, 1929 to Clayton and Matilda Moorefield. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1946. Jackie was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in which her warm heart for people was widely known. Her passion for helping others, sharing her faith in Jesus Christ, and demonstrating the love of God touched countless lives.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Clair and son Ronald Lee Clair.  She is survived by her son, Rev. James R. Clair and his wife Diane, missionaries to Africa, and daughter Judy Leisher and her husband Doug of Hampton. She is "Mema" to six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as some special others.

Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings and international travel, a memorial celebration of Jackie's life will be held at Liberty Baptist Church at a day and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Jackie Clair for a special mission project in Uganda (account 2564) be made to Global Outreach International, Box 1, Tupelo, MS 38802.
