Iona Reiordan passed away peacefully at the age of 97 surrounded by her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles Reiordan, and her five brothers. She is survived by  her son Bruce; a daughter-in-law Vicky; and a grandson Paul; along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Iona was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on January 7, 1928 and grew up in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Her dedication to her faith and God was paramount in her daily life. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church for 50 years. She was then a member of Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church until her death. Iona was heavily involved in volunteering and helping others. During her life in Newport News, she was a member of the Eastern Star, Warwick Chapter #13, the First Baptist Church "Swinging Singers", The Chestnut Memorial UMC "Live Wires" and the "Clown Club". She volunteered at Riverside Hospital for ten years with over 1000 hours of service. She was also part of the Morrison UMC visitation team, visiting homebound church members.

In 2013 she moved to The Chesapeake Baptist Home where she was a much loved resident and who will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends from 11-11:30 AM Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
