Hester A. Ingram, 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia and had been an area resident since 1946. Hester was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and was an embroiderer for Ribbon Mill in Newport News and retired from Bluebird Knitwear, Hampton, in 1990.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Paige R. Ingram; one son David P. Ingram of Newport News; one daughter Patricia Ann Mewborn of Gloucester; three grandchildren, Casey Mewborn, Billy Mewborn and William C. Caroll; and one great-granddaughter Amber Impavido..

A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 PM, at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Peninsula Rescue Mission or Alzheimer's Association.
