Henry "Hank" Thomas Carson entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Hank was a resident of Yorktown, faithfully attended Menchville Baptist Church and spent his most memorable times with his family. When Hank graduated high school in Lenoir, NC he was selected "All American" and at that time he was the only All American football player from North Carolina. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps., and received his B.A. from Wake Forest University and his M.A. from East Carolina University.  Hank's career path began with teaching high school in North Carolina, coaching football and later becoming District Manager of General Medical Corporation. He returned to teaching at Menchville High School and retired from the school system. Hank served his church as Finance Committee chairman for many years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Shelby Carson; 9 children, Tom Carson and his wife Denise of Liberty, SC, Chris Carson of Slidell, LA, Teresa Carson of University Place, WA, Pam Carson of Fredericksburg, VA, Sharon Lipscomb and her husband David of West Point, VA, Mark Doyon and his wife Sandy of New Port Richey, FL, Dennis Doyon and his wife Jill of Bristol, RI, Donna Sigmon, and her husband Philip of Newport News, and Keith Doyon and his wife Mary of Catawba, VA; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating Hank's life will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Menchville Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Menchville Baptist Church, 248 Menchville Road, Newport News, VA 23602.
