Henry and Bessie Bryson, both 85, and married for 67 years, went to be with the Lord within hours of each other on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Henry was born to the late Henry F. and Nellie E. Bryson in Glenville, NC and Bessie to the late James M. DeLung and Mary G. Dobbins in Mt. Hope, WV.

Henry served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 21 years as a Master Sergeant. He also retired Civil Service from Langley Air Force Base as a manager in the MWR Department. Bessie was a nursing assistant at a retirement community. Both were members of Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown.

They are survived by their children, Steve Bryson and his wife, Dayna of Rockledge, FL, Stuart Bryson and his wife, Ashton of Winter Springs, FL, and Sharon Bailey and her husband, Jason of Beaver, WV; and their daughter-in-law, Donna Barnes of Rainbow City, AL; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Bryson, Jennifer Stadden, Amber Summers, Sophia Bryson, Isla Bryson, and Henry Bryson; and 1 great-grand daughter, Felicity Stadden.
They were preceded in death by one son, Gregory Scott Bryson.

A funeral service will be held for Henry and Bessie at 1:30 PM on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Maranatha Baptist Church, 221 Hampton Highway, Yorktown, with Pastor Dale Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made in their names to Maranatha Baptist Church, Mission Fund.
