Hampton-On Tuesday, Dec 16, 2025, God called Helen Elizabeth Hooks home to rest. She was born on Nov 5, 1946 to Susan and James Walker, along with one brother Gary.

Helen was a joy to everyone who knew her. She worked for Riverside Hospital as an R.N. for over 40 years. She also, worked at Riverside Pace.

She loved her church and church family at St. James U.M.C. Especially, her "Designed by God" praise dancers.

A void has been left in so many lives that only God in His perfect will can heal. Memories of her will forever be in our hearts.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Carl  and their two children Susan and James Hooks and a great grandchild, Jurnee. She leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, Jazmyne C. McGee (Amber), and Semaj N. Hooks (Andrea), one brother Gary (Pearl), two great grandchildren Maleek and Maleeyah Etheridge,  a special bonus daughter/Sherry Langhorne and her bestfriend/sister, Vivian Bush, and a host of other family and friends.

The viewing will be Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 2-4 pm at W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Hampton Memorial Garden.
