Gloria Pruitt, aged 96, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Henry Pruitt. She is survived by her son, James E. Pruitt (Skip) of Roanoke, Virginia, her brother Orville Calhoun (Vivian) of Yorktown, Virginia and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of her church, Maranatha Baptist in Yorktown, Virginia. She and her husband, Dr. James Pruitt, travelled in and out of the country ministering the gospel and leading many to Christ.  Prior to traveling, Gloria worked in retail sales and display for Lerner Shops in Newport News.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Hampton Memorial Gardens 155 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
