Gloria Robison Metzger, 87, of Hampton, Virginia passed away peacefully March 19, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandma, and Gigi, Gloria will always be remembered as the kind, caring and loving woman she was.

Born May 1, 1938 in Portsmouth, Virginia, Gloria grew up with a brother and a sister before getting married and moving to Hampton. Gloria was a long time member of Parkview Baptist Church, and was more recently attending Denbigh Christian Church. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Gloria spent many years as a stay at home mom raising the family, then when the children were older began to sell Avon and continued to do so for 30+ years making many friends along the way.

On September 3, 1960 Gloria married the love of her life, Donald Lee Metzger. They shared a loving relationship that lasted 64 years and yielded two children, six grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Metzger; and sister Joyce Tippin.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Karen Murray (Bill), Yvonne Neff (Pete); grandchildren, Mark, David, Katherine, Amanda, Naomi and Brandon; as well as great-grandchildren, Dylan, Sunny, Ameliah, Baylee, Wesley, Sadie, Oaklynn, Parker, Easton, Rob, Emerson, one on the way; and a brother Ben Robison.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24th from  7-8 pm at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 1:30 PM with burial following in Hampton Memorial Gardens. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children in her name, a charity that Gloria herself supported for many years.
