Gertrude Vandenberg Edberg, 94, died on Sunday, May 2, 2021. Born in Deland, Florida, she had been a Newport News and Mathews County resident since 1962.

Gertrude is survived by her husband of 74 years, Robert A. Edberg, Sr.; four children, Robert A. Edberg, Jr. and his wife Florence, Barbara E. Rothenberg and her husband Joel, James A. Edberg and his wife Patricia, and Richard A. Edberg and Kris; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; one sister; one grandson and two great-grandsons.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be private.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
